Peeling Back the Curtain | Day 100
Entrepreneurs rarely give us a peek behind the curtain. And who can blame them? The process of birthing a business isn't always pretty. In fact, it can be downright ugly, often exacting a steep psychological toll as highlighted in a recent Inc. article, 'The Psychological Price of Entrepreneurship.'
We're all drawn to the razzle-dazzle, the success stories that the media loves to trumpet. We idolize the unicorn founders of this world, celebrating the meteoric rise of companies. But here's an open secret: before these entrepreneurs hit the jackpot, they've had to navigate a minefield of anxiety, despair, and moments when everything seemed on the brink of collapse.
That's why I focused this newsletter on lifting the veil and giving you a raw, unfiltered view of what it truly means to build something from scratch; to go from zero to one. It's a rollercoaster ride of peaks and troughs, victories and defeats, stitched together with the scars of battle.
And it’s why I firmly believe that persistence and grit aren't just desirable traits for an entrepreneur—they're absolutely essential.
As the ever-quotable Aaron Sorkin puts it:

So, the next time you find yourself in conversation with a visionary or entrepreneur, take a moment to ask them how they're really doing – beyond just their latest business venture. Sometimes, being a sounding board can be the lifeline they need to keep marching on.
